Theiss Day Treatment Center

The Theiss Day Treatment Center provides developmental programming for preschool children with psychiatric diagnoses. Since early intervention has been proven to be effective for a number of behavioral/developmental disturbances, we serve a variety of problematic children. Some of these children may be:
  • medically fragile with psychiatric complications
  • failure-to-thrive babies
  • emotionally disturbed children who have been exposed to violence
  • children who have aggression problems or conduct disorder problems
  • emotionally disturbed children of parents who have psychiatric disorders

Treatment Services:

  • an individualized program that is designed to address a child?s social-emotional development, language development, self-care/adaptive behavior, and cognitive development
  • systematic re-evaluation to monitor the child?s developmental needs
  • nutritionally balanced breakfast, lunch, and snack provided daily
  • parent education program designed to help parents facilitate the development of their child in targeted areas
  • referral system linking families to community services that will benefit both parent and child
  • medical center with an on-site family practitioner, pediatrician, nurse practitioner, and nursing staff capable of treating medical emergencies and administering medications
