Interests
My main interest is the interface of public
health and oral health. I designed and initiated the dental
students Community Outreach Program. This program involves
student (I-IV) community service, both non-dental and clinical
participation, in underserved communities throughout western
Pennsylvania. As Co-Director of the HRSA Faculty Development
Grant at Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh (1999-2002),
I designed programs for pediatric fellows and faculty to develop
cultural, teaching and leadership skills working with underserved
populations. I also designed and am developing Early Intervention
and Education In Oral Health (EIEIOH). EIEIOH is an educational
study and program for teaching oral health for pre-school
children to non-dental healthcare professionals.
